THE PHANTOM WITH THE GLASS PLUMAGE

Image
You might be aware that "SOME OF THOSE DISTRACTIONS" lie in my engagement with the KRIMI magazine. Although there are still songs to be recorded and released, they do take a backseat as I am writing on the definite history of those films. Nevertheless, with the release of KRIMI! #1 (out on amazon worldwide), CREAMVIII did record a little tune to go with the official trailer for the magazine. This one here is the unedited version. Have fun.

All of those Distractions

Image
I've been distracted. I know. The mc's will not come out this year as my other projects just take up too much time. There is no way I can go hermit and take myself two or three weeks off the buzz to get into the flow of producing and publishing the songs as they should be published. So all I can beg for is your forgiveness. ALL OF THOSE DISTRACTIONS c&p 2025 by B. Brosowski I know I should have written first I know this came out of the cold I know I have been late to you But I know that I have not rehearsed This is no plan that I conceived This is no image I received This is not all it is a fraction And most of all it is reaction Did you wait  Did you wait such a long time? I've been tangled in I've been woven in  I've been strangled in  All of those distractions and All of those distractions oh-oh AND ALL OF THOSE DISTRACTIONS AND ALL OF THOSE DISTRACTIONS AND ALL OF THOSE DISTRACTIONS AND ALL OF THOSE DISTRACTIONS OH-OH OH-OH

The Project of Morgenrot and "Unter dem Beton"

Image
In 2010 I finally decided that Gothic Rock was dead. I mean dead. It simply did not make any sense to put something out in that kind of musical genre at all. Although the songs I wrote at that time would clearly be easy gothic rock pieces, the production became much poppier. Furthermore I was tired to doing shows as, basically, things had stalled for CREAMVIII here.  I thought about going in production or doing soundtrack work. Finally met a young singer who wanted to get out of her band and do recordings with me. I produced 4 tracks that would be much more in the vein of electropop and decided to name that project "MORGENROT". Well, when I sent her the demos with my voice over it, she was very excited, but obviously was told that in the music business, there are lot of creepy old men, hunting down young innocent girls for their perverse pleasures and decided to talk to me only through her "manager", which obviously had talked her into this. Well. In the end, this ...

Never meant to be the two of us (fragment)

Image
Never meant to be the two of us (fragment) I think this is the end I do believe There will be no salvation no us. And all I have to do Is break the seal Of all the things that had been locked If my imagination Could make it real Could make reality Come true Come real I would tell all my words Right to you It would be real forever It would be right For you And my hands wanted to touch your face The endless beauty of your face, your face. And my thoughts will always be with you. The endless beauty of you, of you, of you. The endless grace. And now we lie together In dust-stained sheets In memory together In memory And now we sleep together A final sleep In memory together Your memory And my hands wanted to touch your face The endless beauty of your face, your face. And my thoughts will always be with you. The endless beauty of you, of you, of you. The endless grace. c&p 2025 by Boris Brosowski

The Cold Air

Image
THE COLD AIR C&P B. Brosowski 2025 I will delete this section. I will be free forever from, from the chain I will confide in my reaction. I will suffer to this day from the pain. From the pain From the pain It's a cold, cold web I'm living in. It's a cold, cold trap Where I have been. It's a cold, cold lie That I have lived. And it's the cold, cold air I'm breathing in... This is the path I will be going. This is the way my fate wants me to go. And I will swim with waters flowing. And if I drown, I know that fate will know. To all that shines and your reflection That sends me deep into worlds beyond my fears. All that returns from the transactions Will lead me to this place around the shredded tears. Beyond my Fears It's a cold, cold web I'm living in. It's a cold, cold trap Where I have been. It's a cold, cold lie That I have lived. And it's the cold, cold air I'm breathing in... You came so far. So here is an extended version for yo...

RAMMSTEIN, KMFDM & CREAMVIII, Better than the Rest

Image
After putting out the "Touching Ground E.P." I was not sure where CREAMVIII should go. As indicated by the name changes, the solo project cream8 had become the band CREAMVIII after (!) the recording of THE EMERALD TOUCH. Demands were high to put together something for live performances, as Zillo Magazine had promised us to feature us on the next Zillo Festival. Which did not happen. Anyway. Sascha Lecher, who had helped me with his guitar, decided to leave his band and join me. We auditioned some bass players, out of which Jochen Autschbach was the one we personally liked the most and who was technically the best. We did some crazy shows in crazy clubs, and these are the things old men are reminiscent of quietly and joyfully. To me, basically, gothic music was going nowhere, and cream8 had done it's duty. But being together with Sascha and Jochen was a joy, and they were very gifted musicians. Well. This is how we came up with the decidedly undecided "Touching Groun...

HOW IT ALL BEGAN & state of progress

Image
First, there is a new song here: How it all began. It is just a little new thing that has been created. Second: There will be a new CREAMVIII release called THE GO FASTER E.P. . It will contain six new songs and will be published exclusively on MC/analog. More on this in a later post. The production will start Jan 6th, so the release date will be around end of February 2025. The songs are already written and recorded, on two songs the vocals still need to be recorded, then they all have to be mixed and mastered. Third: There will be a new TSU! release. The first (in a series of two) will be "THE BURNING TOWN REDUX" which will feature the 4 original remastered songs from the 1990 "The Burning Town E.P." and 4 newly created versions of these songs, newly recorded. This too will be on MC exclusively and be out end of February 2025. All songs are already recorded. One vocal has to be recorded. All have to be mixed and mastered. Now to the new song "How it all Bega...

The TSU! - Stompin' Crash recordings with Karl Parchow

Image
Until 1990 I basically had been an island, writing, recording and taping all the stuff by myself and never gave it to anyone to listen to.  As the gear I used became more and more professional (an Atari-ST with the "1st Track" sequencer by Geerdes running on it and the Casio CZ-1 as well as a Casio RZ-1 for the drums, I finally thought, I could "dare" to expose me to the world.  On the other side, the internal pressure had built up with my life being completely out of control for a few months, so there had to be some kind of (pressure-)release. It is hard to describe, but I was actually "forced" by a power stronger than my own will, to publish some demo-songs. In the small-ads-board at the university I was looking for musicians to cooperate with me and I saw the flyer by Karl Parchow, a drummer who had simple and cheap recording facilities. I phoned him, we got a deal which sounded reasonable and I had 3 weeks to get my stuff together. Frantic re-editing ...

Geartalk I (1986/1987/1988): Specdrum and the CASIO SK-5

Image
Although I had been interested in making music, recording vocals and stuff, the first time I actually bought and used a musical device was this one. The Specdrum - this was a hardware addition for the ZX-Spectrum home computer that I had since 1985. My Specdrum was never as fancy as this one on the photo as the company in England that sent it to me (I had send them cash) obviously thought that for that bloody german, a used one without any packaging would be sufficiant. I could not complain legally, after all. Those were the times.  Here is a nice demo-video for the Specdrum Anyway I got it and immediately tried it and put it a away and forgot about it. I would like to recall that I had a plan, but I did not have one.  Then I heard "This Corrosion", I learned, that there are "Samplers" out there, and in one of our computer magazines they had a feature on midi-synthezisers. So I learned that Casio was serious, but there was no way I could afford a CZ-101 (that was f...

TSU! STUDIO RECORDINGS NEW MC OUT 2024

Image
This is a dummy-cover for the preview... I have been able to unearth the original master tapes for all the TSU! recordings we did back then in 90-92 at Karl Parchow's Stompin' Crash Studio in Kreuztal/GER. All of these songs will be remasterd (analog) and re-issued as C-60 MC. These were 6 recordings totalling in at 30 Minutes. The other side of the MC will be the same songs, but  recorded in 2024 (now). These are not the kind of Re-imaginations I have shared with you on this blog, but - and I will admit this - I had to get around the technology of music AI to incorporate it into the music of CREAMVIII. These songs have never been published digitally (officially) and will all remain analog (except for Eyes of God and Lethar Urban Zone). The MC will be distributed via our DISCOGS page and via BANDCAMP, with one track (Eyes of God) available digitally, but the purchase will be for the complete C-60 MC. Price, Cover etc TBA. The Songs are: Original Recordings for TSU! - THE BURNIN...

Don't Answer

Image
One of the most important songs in the development of CREAM8 was the song "Don't Answer" by Claudio Simonetti. This song was the main theme of a late giallo called "Dial:Help" by Ruggero Deodato. As you know, genre movies have always been of high interest to me and so I wanted to cover this song. And it worked quite well.  As I am currently revisiting the the old pre-CREAM8 stuff with "TSU!" and the time after, I had the idea of recording this song again. This time with finnish artist Katja Savia. Sadly the collaboration did not happen as planned (this would have been COLLABORATION PART II in this blog) But Katja obviously liked the song and now has released her version of it. So here it is: Click HERE for the video

The Edge of Winter

Image
The Edge of Winter And as the dry leaves crack Under my feet And as the dark wind blows And as the rain falls down On my feet And as I close the show And as the soft touch fades Under my hands And as the dark wind blows And as there will be just pain Under my hands And as I close the show I am afraid there will be no more sunshine I am afraid there will be no more pain We're here on the Edge of Winter Two Hands keeping each other one's warm We're here, we've gone the whole way To the Edge of Winter To the Edge of Winter Two Hands keeping each other one's warm (TWO HANDS) We're here, we've gone the whole way (WE'RE HERE) To the Edge of Winter (ON THE EDGE) To the Edge of Winter (THE EDGE, EDGE, EDGE) And as the dry leaves crack Under my feet And as the dark wind blows And as the rain falls down On my feet At the Edge of Winter At the Edge of Winter At the Edge of Witner At the Edge of Winter At the Edge of winter (at the edge) (c) (p) by Boris ...

Sweet Black Silk

Image
Sweet Black Silk is an mutation of the previous "So many lies". The "Fog" that "crawled under the door" now becomes the "Silk" that "crawls down the stairs".. so this is just a part of a song I left out in another song and developed it further. It might be interesting to fuse both of them "So many Lies" and "Sweet black Silk" back together. As for now, both songs remain unfinished. Sweet Black Silk Sweet, sweet black silk As she's crawling down the stairs The lonely stairs I feel the air above circling in Sweet, sweet black silk Sweet, black dreams I feel you in, deep within me Sweet, sweet black dreams Deep inside me is the silk The sweet sweet black silk Sweet, sweet black dreams I feel you in, deep within me Sweet, sweet black dreams Deep inside me is the silk The sweet sweet black silk Sweet black silk Where have you been Sweet black silk Sweet black silk to me Sweet sweet black silk As she's crawling...

So Many Lies (1+2)

Image
Sometimes you got good lyrics and a good melody but just not a good song. Or a suitable song. Or a song that feels right. I played around with the lyrics and the song-format for this one a lot. So in the end, two very different versions came up, you will be surprised. I still like the chorus very much so maybe it will pop up later this life again. Oh dear. VERSION ONE VERSION TWO Lyrics Version 1 (c&p 2024 Boris Brosowski) And as the dusk creeps in Like fog in a movie back then Crawling under the door And as the fade begins And when the songs are same But things are left unsaid Crawling into your bed And as the fade remains Sweet, sweet black sin crawling in  into my dreams into my schemes deep within sweet black sin Doors through the air I know you have told so many lies You hide behind a thin veil of disguise I know you have betrayed so many times I see the deceit in your eyes So many lies I see the deceit in your eyes So many lies So many lies So many lies So many times Lyri...

We should have been (2 versions)

Image
We should have been is again one of the newer compositions for the upcoming album, which will be not used there... Two different versions are included here. The second one is below the lyrics. We should have been c&p 2024 by Boris Brosowski Can I call you by your name As the heaven will reveal All your memories of shame All the ones you had to blame Can I prove that I was right Will it change a thing for you All your memories beside All the lives we never knew I see it now I see it clear Things go too far Things are too near And will you remember me, my dear? And do you believe we should have been A stranger consciousness of fear A stranger pair than we have been

The wild world

Image
I had this song in my head for ages. 20 years at least. Finally I gave it the chance to get out. Here is the song:  The Wild World (words, music, c&p 2024 by Boris Brosowski) Come on, come on Let's hide from the sun We can share the night We can take it one by one. Come on, come on And see how it's done We can get over it Until the blackest night is gone. It's a wild wild world we're living in People are, people are rushing in It's a crazy old thing we're living in See how we slowly how we slowly give in Come on, come on And I know you will come To our shrine that we became When the time moved along Deny, deny Where you have come from From the shrine that we once were When we sang our songs It's a wild wild world we're living in People are, people are rushing in It's a crazy old thing we're living in See how we slowly how we slowly give in It's a wild wild world we're living in (Come on, come on) People are, people are ru...
